Leeder Analytical is proud to partner with The Royal Australian Chemical Institute (RACI) in supporting the expansion of the International Chemistry & Art Competition (ICAC) starting in 2025. This unique initiative aims to inspire creativity and scientific curiosity by merging the worlds of chemistry and art for children worldwide.
Competition Details
The ICAC invites participants to explore chemistry creatively through art, with two exciting phases:
- Phase 1 – Institution Submissions (January – June 2025):
- Museums, science centres, and art galleries will create and submit artworks based on the theme “What is Chemistry to Me?” by June 1, 2025.
- Public display of submissions begins on June 1, with the overall winner announced on July 31, 2025.
Participating Institutions Include:

- Scitech (Perth, WA)
- Science Space (Wollongong, NSW)
- Discovery Science & Technology Centre (Bendigo, VIC)
- Phase 2 – Open to Students (August – October 2025):
- Submissions are open to all students globally from August 1 to October 1, 2025.
- Students can compete for a share of $2,500 AUD in prizes, fostering inclusivity and creativity.
Judges for the 2025 Competition
The judging panel for 2025 features prominent figures in science, education, and the arts:
- Chrissie Goldrick – Editor in Chief, Australian Geographic
- Dr. Cathy Foley – Outgoing Chief Scientist of Australia
- Prof. Amanda Ellis – Incoming RACI President
- Dr. Drew Berry – Biomedical Animator, WEHI
